Sunday Supplement: A peek into Charlotte's supplement routine & how she stays balanced and focused

To kick off, we sat down with Unfabled's B2B Partnerships Lead, Charlotte. Here’s the story behind her supplement shelf, including the products she swears by, her health goals, and how she’s perfected a “high-maintenance to be low-maintenance” routine.

What’s your main health and wellness goal? Why do you take supplements?

Since coming off hormonal contraception, I’ve loved feeling more in tune with my body. I feel like I have a much better understanding of the supplements that help me feel my best.

How would you describe your supplement routine or style of taking supplements?

High-maintenance to be low-maintenance 🧘‍♀️

Can you walk us through your daily supplement routine?

Morning

Breakfast:

When working from home, I tend to have yogurt, granola (Deliciously Ella Nutty Granola), and whatever fruit is available.

Supplements:

  • Our Remedy Probiotics: In truth, I’ve been really bad at taking these consistently... but I want to! I get bad acid reflux (cute), and I hear probiotics could be the answer. It’s my back-to-school September goal to take these consistently.
  • Unfabled Collagen Pureblend: The girlies who have skin troubles know what it’s like to find a product that sparkles helps sparkles. Touch wood, my skin has been drama-free since using this, and I usually have a monthly breakout when I’m on my period. The real test will be the winter months when my skin generally falls apart.
  • Unfabled Mushroom Superblend: I could not live without this now. It’s a complete game changer for me. I take it in the AM before a time-block hour of deep work and feel like I’ve taken the pill in Limitless! I’m so zoned in and efficient.

Midday:

  • Unfabled Debloat: If I’m luteal, this comes everywhere with me. At. All. Times. I recently went on holiday with friends when we realised we were all luteal 🫠, and these bad boys were the star of the trip.

Evening:

  • Magnesium Glycinate: SO, I take one of these before bed and have done for a couple of years now. I started with the Nutri Advanced Magnesium Glycinate, but since we launched the Unfabled Magnesium Superblend I haven't looked back. I’m actually quite a good sleeper but get so worried about being a bad one that I like to take this preemptively… and it works!
  • Vitamin D & C: I take these in the winter months in particular. I have literally just run out, which could explain my cold! I think it’s SO important when we are plunged into cold and darkness. Brand-wise, I tend to go for Wild Nutrition’s Vitamin D and Nutri Advanced’s Time Release Vitamin C.
  • Nenningers Naturals Triple Flu Defence: Just started taking this in the Vitamin C absence, and so far, so good? I need to use it a bit more before I recommend it, but I hear good things!
  • Finally, my LED mask (also known as the Iron Man mask). This is what I’d save from a burning building. As previously mentioned, I grew up with acne from 12 - 18, it was scarring (physically and mentally!) and so I’m willing to pay the £ to keep things at bay. Every time I feel a spot brewing, this banishes it (while terrifying my housemates). 

What’s your desert island supplement?

Mushroom Superblend, so I have the brainpower to build a ship off the island.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone on supplements?

Try and be consistent! Some supplements you can feel the effects of immediately (like mushroom and debloat), but some need a bit of time to show the results you’re looking for.

What supplement do you recommend to other people the most?

It depends on their symptoms, but if they’re not sure where to start, I vote for magnesium (everyone wants to have less period cramps and better sleep) and/or mushroom (everyone wants to feel super-focused, right?!).
