My first experience going au naturel with Wild deodorant

My first experience going au naturel with Wild deodorant

I have a confession to make: I was sceptical about natural deodorant.

For years, I've been relying on traditional antiperspirants to keep me smelling fresh and clean. And yes, I've heard all the rumours about aluminium and other harmful chemicals in these products, but I've always been hesitant to make the switch to a more natural alternative. I mean, what if it doesn't work?

Working for a sustainable hormonal health and wellness company has its perks - one of them being that I get to try out a lot of samples from different brands to ensure that we offer only the best to our community. So when it came to testing out a new natural deodorant, I was naturally curious, if a little unconvinced.

One of the main reasons I decided to make the switch to a natural deodorant is because I learned about the possible risks associated with conventional ones. It was alarming to find out that almost a quarter of mainstream deodorants could contain substances that may harm our hormonal system. Knowing how important hormone health is in relation to my holistic wellbeing, I couldn’t ignore this information. By switching to a natural deodorant, I’m hoping to minimise any potential negative effects on my monthly cycle.

So, I wanted to share my first experience using Wild deodorant with you. A brand taking the natural deodorant world by storm, Wild is famous for its gorgeous deodorant cases, natural scents and the fact that it really works, so I put it to the test.

Let’s get into it. Here are my thoughts on Wild’s deodorant.

Stylish & sustainable

First of all, let's talk about the packaging. The deodorant comes in a sleek, reusable metal case that's both practical and environmentally friendly. Plus, you can choose from a variety of fun and funky designs that add a pop of colour to your bathroom shelf. I opted for the classic aqua case and I 100% recommend it. I now carry it with me everywhere - small enough to pop in your bag so it’s with you all day long, it’s my new classy companion.

Fresh & fragrant

Now to the good stuff - the deodorant itself. When I first applied the fresh cotton & sea salt scent, I was sceptical. Would it work as well as my trusty antiperspirant? Would I start to smell halfway through the day? But as the day wore on, I began to realise that maybe, just maybe, natural deodorant was the way to go. Not only did I smell fresh all day long, but I felt good knowing that I was using a product that was good for both me and the environment - a win-win! Plus, it didn’t leave any unwanted white marks on my clothes like some traditional deodorants do.

Gentle goodness

One of my biggest pet peeves about traditional deodorant is the stinging sensation that comes with spraying it on my armpits. But with Wild's easy-to-swipe, gentle alternative, I finally found a game changer. Its combination of vegan and natural ingredients meant that I experienced no irritation, redness, or itching - a refreshing change from my previous experiences.

Sweaty betty

However, I did notice one major difference - I was sweating more than usual. Now, this might sound like a bad thing, but it's actually quite normal. Natural deodorants don't contain aluminium, which means they don't block your sweat pores like traditional antiperspirants do. Instead, they work by neutralising odour, causing bacteria, which is a much healthier and more natural way to stay fresh.

Final thoughts

Overall, I can confidently say that Wild deodorant is a winner in my book. It's effective, eco-friendly, and smells absolutely divine. So, if you're considering making the switch to natural deodorant, I say go for it! Your body will thank you, and who knows, you might even discover a new favourite scent.

One last thing - we of course decided to onboard Wild's natural deodorant, and it's now available to shop on our website! You’re very welcome.
